That‘s right folks, you read the title correctly. NASA is sending a one way ticket to Mars in the year 2024. Mars One is a not- for –profit foundation and was founded in 2011. The goal of the foundation is to create a permanent human settlement on Mars. The first footprint on Mars and lives of the crew thereon will captivate and inspire generations; it is this public interest that will help finance this human mission to Mars. Mission One will send four astronauts to Mars every two years.
The first group of astronauts will be chosen several months before the first human departure, the Mars One selection committee will determine which groups in training are ready to depart to Mars. There will be at least six groups ready for the mission beforehand. That way the world has a few groups to pick from. Since the Mars One is humankind’s mission they want the pick to be democratic for the whole world.
After the group is chosen it is time for those four people to fly to Mars. The flight will take between seven to eight months. The astronauts will have to live together in a very small and tight space. They will not be able to shower with water and eat fresh food until they get to Mars. It is critical for them to have a three hour daily exercise to maintain a muscle mass.
When they finally reach Mars they live in a settlement with components which contain bedrooms, working areas, a living room and a ‘plant production unit’, where they will grow greenery. They will also be able to shower as normal, prepare fresh food (that they themselves grew and harvested) in the kitchen, wear regular clothes, and, in conclusion, and lead typical day-to-day lives.
Are you ready for this adventure? Remember this is not a force taken action. You must choose this on your own. If you are go to: Mars
